' Getting an ex back' vs. ' How to mend a broken heart'

by Robert Sinclair

Love is on everybody's mind. You can't escape it, it's as if everything is saturated in it. Every 3rd T.V channel will have something on, that discusses romance. Right around the corner is the next love series like the O.C. Even the history channel will talk about some queens medieval affair. Books are no different. The romantic section is probably one of the biggest ones and titles like how to get your ex back are readily available. In celebrity magazines we see the same thing. Almost all of those people became famous after taking part in a romantic film.

It's so evident that it's not even worth mentioning. We are clearly preoccupied by romance.

Some people might see it as something negative. I personally think it's great. The topic should be discussed more in industrialized countries like The Russian federation and Netherlands. Their population is declining. In many of those countries people think more about their work and how they will succeed in life. While in reality success is often a matter of having a good family. T.V and Radio pays more attention to one's wallet size than the family size. Don't get me wrong, 'romantic' shows still get a lot of air time there too. Too bad that many of these shows display romance in a negative light. They show cheating adventures of a husband as if it was the norm. Why not show a faithful husband that comes home to spend time with his kids. Books that talk about how to get over an ex don't help either. Why is it so hard to find a book that will explain how to fix a relationship and help you get your lover back? Books that make you fight for your love and not give up should be more prevalent. When was the last time you saw a best seller like that?

Southern parts of the U.S have staggering separation rates (1 in 3 separate. When will it end? Those are mind blowing statistics! Did people stop trying to fix their problems and simply abandon ship? What happened to 'till death do us apart'? If a husband finds out that his wife is cheating he might jump the boat but... This act of betrayal, could have been provoked by something. May be it was caused by a grave mistake on the part of the husband? Could it be a minor change in the way the couple communicated? I think the 80 / 20 rule applies here too, where as 80 percent of the difference is caused by 20 percent of change. It's been said that the top reason why wives go to look elsewhere is the lack of recognition.

Therefore it becomes clear that we should value our partner. Let's look beyond things that differentiate us and concentrate on things that unite us. Let's be understanding and patient towards one another. We can choose the feelings of fondness instead of anger. Because in the end of the day love always prevails.
