There is no real secret to fat loss. It is a simple equation of burning more calories than you take in. Some ways of doing so are healthier than others, however. To lose weight the healthy way takes longer but, in the end, you will be better off and more likely to keep the weight you lose off.

Portion size, of course, is something you want to pay attention to. You also need to make sure your body is getting the nutrition that it needs. You can start by eating food that is natural and whole with no additives or processing. Also, be sure that your diet is a varied one with a good amount of fruits and vegetables. Drinking water is also important for keeping your body hydrated as well as flushing out toxins.

You might want to consider adding nutritional supplements into your diet also. The reality is, food does not have as much nutritive value as it did in the past. It is smart to eat organic as much as you can in order to get the most out of your food.

The other key to the equation for weight loss is exercising. To lose weight in a way that is healthy means that you need to exercise on a regular basis. If you work on your muscle tone as your are losing fat, you are going to be more pleased with your appearance when you are done. Exercise is also important for overall health.

To get the best weight loss, it is good to do varied exercise, such as both cardio and weights. The more muscle you have, the more calories you will burn, even at rest. Bear in mind, however, that muscle weighs more than fat. Therefore, you may not lose weight at first or may not see the loss you were hoping for right away if you are building muscle as well.

Regular exercise improves your mood and releases stress, both of which will make you healthier as you lose weight. It will also increase your circulation. And, of course, the more calories you burn, the more weight you will lose.

The key to keeping up with both elements, a healthy diet and regular exercise, is to keep yourself motivated. One way to do this is to start a weight loss program with a friend. You can help each other stay focused and motivated on your goals.

It is also a good idea to break bigger exercise and weight loss goals down into smaller ones. This way you can feel like you are accomplishing something along the way. Just be sure that the smaller goals challenge you but are achievable.

Keep track of both your eating and exercising. When you have to write everything down, you have more of a chance of keeping yourself honest. Healthy and fast weight loss is possible. When you experience fat burning this way, you have a better chance of avoiding health problems as well as keeping the weight off.
