Eliminate Oily Skin the Natural Route!
Combination and oily skin do have different skin care requirements, but they do share some common points. For example, they both require similar forms of acne care, which implies that they can also be treated using common skin care products.
The key to being able to deal with this problem is to establish a regular cleansing routine. Sometimes, when treating mild to moderate cases of acne (these include facial and back acne), a regular cleansing routine can be more effective than over the counter acne creams, however, if you're trying to treat more severe cases of acne, then you will need to have medical supervision.
First Step: Cleanse Acne Prone Skin
A soapy cleanser is ideal for both combination skin and oily skin. Cleansers containing salicylic acid or retinol will help stabilize the production of sebum and reduce clogged pores.
Now, please don't think that by saying you should use a "soapy" cleanser we mean soap and water. In fact, using a mix of soap and water will only you're your skin more dry and brittle and do nothing to help cleanse it. Extra sebum protection is the result of extra dryness. This then will lead to more pores that are clogged in addition to more acne lesions.
Although it is not widely known, you can beat oily skin with the use of an organic acne solution. A great natural cleansers for oily skin is milk of magnesia. It's quite simple to use, all you need to do is rub it on your skin and rinse off.
Second Step: Toning, Maybe - Exfoliating, Definitely
Many people like to include a toner in their daily regimen. However if your cleanser does a good enough job and removing your makeup, then it probably isn't necessary. If at any point you decide that using a toner is necessary, make sure that it is alcohol free.
Exfoliating, on the other hand, is a must with oily and combination skin. You should exfoliate once a week. If you find that your skin is still a bit dull, then you can try exfoliating twice a week.
Luckily, both oily and combination skin can resist facial scrubs, nevertheless, you should still be gentle and use a small amount of the product. Also keep in mind that if you cleanse your skin excessively or scrub too hard, you will cause your body to produce excess sebum.
Third Step: Use the Appropriate Moisturizer
Just because your skin is oily or combination doesn't mean it doesn't need to be moisturized. Oily skin requires a moisturizer just like other types of skin, however, make sure that you choose a light, water-based moisturizer so that your skin does not feel too coated.
Extra Step: Natural Acne Skin Care Treatment to Treat Acne
Any successful acne remedy regime should always include acne creams that can be used for spot treatments. By using acne creams for spot treatment, you can boost the effectiveness of your cleansing routine and minimize any possible irritation to healthy skin.
